Limited gift edition, printed hors-commerce, this one of a few bound in red morocco for members of the Imperial family; 3 works in 5 vols, 8vo (22 x 15 cm); the first volume of each work bears a presentation inscription in ink by the author to Grand Duke Paul Alexandrovich and dated 1884, all the half-titles, white silk guards and endpapers, library label with shelf number and the Grand Duke's monogram to the upper pastedown of each volume, red pencil number shelf numbers in each volume to endpaper or flyleaf, a.e.g.; contemporary red morocco, covers gilt ruled, inner dentells, spines with raised bands and elaborate gilt tooling, edges worn, corners bumped, wear to head of spine of vol.I of Oblomov, a very good set.

  2. First edition of this translation, first impression; 8vo; publisher's yellow cloth, design after Beardsley to upper board and spine in black, titles to spine gilt, bookplate removed from front free endpaper leaving light residue, a trifle rubbed, spine gently rolled ad a little faded. Very good indeed.

First edition, 12mo (18 x 11.5 cm); 64pp., presentation inscription in pencil to title-page, introduction leaf with illustration in black and white after Ekster, colour plate after Maria Vasil'eva and four plates in blue after Burliuk under the title 'Four Women'; publisher's printed wrappers, rubbed and slightly stained, spine chipped at extremities, upper cover splitting; fresh internally.

First edition, second issue; 2 vols, 8vo; publisher's green, white and black printed wrappers, light wear to spine tips and corners, faint finger soiling to rear wrappers, one corner crease, with the stickers (chipped on vol.II) altering the price to '1200 Francs' affixed to the rear covers, a very good set.

  5. First edition of the Garnett translation, first impression; 2 vols, 8vo; two leaves opened roughly; publisher's blue cloth, titles to spines gilt, top edges green, dust jackets which are slightly tanned, fine copies.

  6. First edition, 8vo; 376pp.; in original publisher's printed wrappers, slight creasing to spine otherwise a fine copy.
