Scarce. The author was Collector and Magistrate of Buduan, in Rohilcund. Determined not to abandon his post during the Rebellion, having sent his wife and child to safety, he was eventually forced to flee with two trusted servants after the local sepoy battalion mutinied and released 3000 prisoners from gaol. Edwards and his servants crossed the Ganges under fire before spending three months searching for safety.
