LEWIS, Wyndham.

The Jews - are they Human?

Stock Code
98728
London, George Allen & Unwin Ltd, 1939
£480

An attractive copy of the author's famous and somewhat divisive antifascist text. The title is a reference to another work, The English: are they Human (1931) by G.J. Renier, and was intended ironically in defence of the Jews at the time of escalating antisemitism in Europe. Despite the combative nature of the title the work was well received in many quarters, including the Jewish Chronicle.
