With a letter from Nelson Rockefeller. The Last Rivet was produced to celebrate the completion of the Rockefeller Center. It contains photographs by Berenice Abbott, Margaret Bourke-White, Brown Brothers, J. Walker Grimm, Fritz Henle, Wendell Macrae, Newspictures Inc., New York Herald Tribune, Edward Ratcliffe, and Paul J. Woolf. While copies are often accompanied by a standard letter from John D. Rockefeller, this copy has a letter from Nelson Rockefeller apologising on his father's behalf for not inviting the recipient to the rivet-driving ceremony.

First edition with a personalised ALS from Nelson Rockefeller on Rockefeller Center, Inc., headed paper; 4to (279 x 218 mm, 11 x 8½ in); black-and-white photographs printed in relief halftone; illustrated endpapers, green flock-covered boards, brown cloth spine, titles stamped in silver on spine, minor shelfwear, inlaid 'rivet' in silver card on upper side, illustrated dust-jacket printed in silver, spine and edges lightly toned, short tear and crease to bottom edge and crease to top edge of upper panel, an excellent copy; 45, [3]pp.
