This is the second edition of an important French Restoration polemic. Duplanyl was a master of mosaic/onlay binding.
Second edition, 3 vols, tall 8vo, some slight spotting and browning, contemporary dark blue straight grained morocco decorated in the Romantic style, border formed of numerous gilt fillets, further gilt fillet enclosing central panel decorated with central Oriental style decoration in gilt, with red onlays in the form of a cross repeated on both sides, corners with Oriental motives with sienna onlays, spines flat and ornately gilt to a intricate floral design with tiny flowers in red, green and sienna onlays, this within triple gilt fillets, g.e., gilt dentelles, endpapers in simulated watered-silt, by Duplanyl.
