Humphrey Prideaux (1648-1724) was a Cornish churchman, orientalist and Dean of Norwich from 1702. 'The Old and New Testament connected in the History of the Jews and Neighbouring Nations' is his most important published work, which covers the historical interval between the Old and New Testaments.

First Dublin edition. Folio. 2 parts in 1 volume, titles printed in red and black, folding plate of the Temple of Jerusalem, 4 maps (3 folding, 1 laid down, 1 with repairs to top edge), C1, C2 and Iiii with ragged edges, pp. 241-244 in Book VIII are misnumbered, finger soiling to first title, contemporary (?) roan-backed boards, wear to head of spine, worn. [4], v-xvi, [6], 258, [26], vi-xii, 288, [32] and 5 maps.
