A near-fine example of this charming book, first printed in 1916, with woodcuts by Ronald Seal and David Pepler after drawings by Priscilla Johnston.

Priscilla Johnston was the daughter of typographer and calligrapher Edward Johnston, who lived in Ditchling from 1912 until his death in 1944, and whose earlier teachings influenced Eric Gill, among many others. Priscilla was just five years old when she wrote this book.

Second printing; 12mo; woodcuts by Ronald Seal and David Pepler after drawings by Priscilla Johnston, unmarked internally; original wrappers, pictorial title to upper cover, a near-fine copy.
