A charming, innocent story of Jack, Jane and Benji who live in 'Happy House' and their encounter with the next-door neighbours' niece and nephew, profusely illustrated by Kathleen Gell. It is very much of its time, published only two year following the end of World War II.
First edition, first impression; 4to (250 x 190 mm); illustrated by Kathleen Gell, a few very minor, marginal marks, else near-fine; publisher's cream cloth boards, illustrated and lettered in blue with black outline, toned with minor soiling, illustrated endpapers, a few minor spots, slightly more evident to blank verso of upper free endpaper, else internally near-fine, illustrated dust- jacket, lightly worn, rubbed at extremities with som chips and small losses to lower edge, more so to bottom of spine but not affecting lettering, otherwise good and unrestored.
