A scarce pirated edition. A fine series of plates illustrating correct horsemanship in riding to hounds.
The plates are captioned: "Going along a slapping pace", "Topping a flight of Rails, then coming well into the next field", "Charging an Ox-fence", "Going in and out clever", "Facing a Brook", and "Swishing at a Rasper", all Indispensable Accomplishments for a good hunter. This set of plates prompted Henry Alken to publish his "Qualified Horses and Unqualified Riders..".
Small 4to ( 28., edge-bound, the complete set of six hand-coloured etchings, red half morocco gilt by Zaehnsdorf, lightly rubbed.
