A bright and handsome copy of this popular work on big game hunting in India, with a warm presentation inscription dated 1911. Charles Edward Mackintosh Russell was a lawyer and forester in Mysore who spent his spare time hunting. Russell relates his considerable experience hunting tigers, alongside the hunting of bison, buffalo, yak, tsine, elephant, bear, panther, ibex, and deer. The second edition was published in the same year as the first and only differed in having dark-green cloth instead of red as here.
