History of the holy kaaba and masjid al-haram. Mohamed Amin was among the first photographers to photograph sections of the Holy Mosques of Mecca and Medina and be granted access to document Hajj. This publication is richly illustrated with Amin's skillfully captured images and text that contains historical descriptions of the Holy Kaaba and Masjid al Haram, along with summaries of their architectural developements and recent transformative construction undertaken by the Saudi Ministry.

First edition, photographic illustrations throughout, paralel text in Arabic and English, oblong folio (270 x 380 mm), some light finger-soiling, original decorated green boards, upper cover with gilt calligraphic design, some white marks to edges of lower cover.
