Lobel-Riche's study presents bourgeois Parisian women as well as the staff at restaurants and bars, focusing on their costumes and their manner of comportment. Meunier declared the artist a 'poet of dry point'.
Limited edition, one of 26 copies on Japon Impérial, from a total edition of 30, folio (38 x 30.5 cm); two original drawings in bistre and blue (one signed) on the half-title, ten engravings hors-texte each in five states, an extra suite on Japon of the small engravings in the text; bound in plain wrappers with marbled paper cover, a fine copy.
