S Street Shuffle is Suzuki Kiyoshi's fourth book. The English title is taken from Bruce Springsteen's song 'E Street Shuffle,' while the Japanese title is a pun on a phrase used in a television commercial for a Nissan sports car. Suzuki took these photographs between 1982 and 1987 as he traveled through Yokohama, Kawasaki, Okinawa, Tokyo, Shanghai, Pusam, and Osaka.
