Pride and Prejudice follows the character development of the attractive, witty, and intelligent Elizabeth Bennett, who learns to distinguish between superficial goodness and true virtue during the course of the narrative.
First Brock edition; 2 vols, small 8vo (180 x 115 mm); frontispieces and a further 10 colour plates by H.M. Brock, edited by R.B. Johnson, paper mildly age-toned (as usual), offsetting and spotting to preliminary leaves and endpapers, a little more so to vol. I but in the main, very unblemished; publisher's grey cloth decorated in blue and gilt, top edges gilt, others uncut, some very minor soiling but remarkably bright otherwise.
