Scarce set of charming hand-coloured lithographs showing various street merchants rarely included in other similar works. Our set has a number of dissimilarities compared with the one in the collection of Gubar and in the depositories of Harvard University library: lithographed cards from our collection are unnumbered and have coloured backgrounds; some figures and captions have minor discrepancies, others feature different street merchants, not present in the Gubar's and Harvard's sets.
Rare: not in the usual bibliographies, in particular not in Hilers' compilation nor Thieme-Becker, and apparently no copy in the UK, the Library of Congress and the NYPL.
Collection of 22 (possibly out of 24) hand-coloured lithographs, printed on thick paper, captioned in Russian and French. Dimensions: 12 x 8.8 cm.
