These two series of plates, the first of costumes, the second of weapons and symbols, were prepared to accompany the author's Etat Militaire Ottoman. Although planned in several volumes only the first appeared. The work was translated from the Turkish by George Macrides. The costume plates are within decorative borders composed of Ottoman symbols.
First edition in French, landscape folio (28.5 x 40 cm), 17 lithographic plates with original tissue guards, original printed boards, a little stained, repair to lower corner of cover and joints, a very good copy of a scarce work.
