This is a handsome author's binding of Alan Hill's great biography of the first-class cricketer, Bill Edrich, signed by Hill and the foreword's author, Denis Compton. Hill was a prominent English biographer of cricketers who also published biographies of the likes of Herbert Sutcliffe, Jim Laker, and Brian Close. Edrich was one of a family of cricketers, whose show-stopping career playing for England spanned from 1938 to 1955. Compton had a similarly spectacular career playing for England, 1937-1957. Lord's Cricket Ground named stands after both of them in 1991.Number III of XX limited edition copies for the authors and publishers, signed by both authors in pen on limitation page; 8vo; green endpapers, 16 pages of illustrations, a few more in-text images and tables in appendices; publisher's green morocco, spine lettered in gilt, top edge gilt, green slipcase; a very good copy; xx, 267pp.
