A lovely six-volume edition of Alexander Pope's collected works, illustrated with twenty-four engraved plates.Featuring his juvenilia and poems, translations of the classics and modern-rendering of Chaucer, his Essay on Man and moral works, the Dunciad, miscellaneous prose writings, and his letters.
6 vols; 12mo (16.5 x 10.5 cm); 24 engraved plates including frontispiece, occasional toning; contemporary sprinkled tan calf, contrasting red morocco lettering-piece and volume labels to spines, edges stained yellow, covers slightly abraded and a little marked, very good or better.
