Karl Baedeker, Leipzig 1943
The name of the Territory derived from the old name under Czarist Russia before World War I ("General Gouvernement of Warsaw") and used by the Germans during the 1914/18 War after they had captured the region from Russia. The map is undated and therefore this copy is the rare third issue which is unlisted in Hinrichsen.
First edition. lxiv, 264 pp, 3 maps and 6 town plans, ink signature on title-page, pages browned as usual; publisher's variant coarse-grained binding; an excellent copy.
Variant of Hinrichsen D258.
