First edition, offprint of a paper on the development of radioactivity research up to 1911, primarily noting the work by Rutherford, Geiger, Soddy, the Curies, and Boltwood himself.
Yale scientist Bertram Bolden Boltwood (1870-1927) was one of the founders of the field of radiochemistry. He discovered that all radioactive elements eventually decay into lead, and developed the technique of radiometric dating, showing that some of the Earth's rocks were 2.2 million years old, much older than previous estimates.
14-page offprint; contents faintly toned in the margins, original green wrappers printed in black, wire-stitched, edges of wrappers tanned, excellent condition.
