Biggs (1822-1905) was an amateur photographer in the Indian army. He was supplied with a camera by the British East India Company in 1854 and appointed Government photographer, Bombay to record architectural and archeological sites from February to December 1855.
This photograph is a plate from the publication Architecture at Ahmedabad, published in 1866.

Albumen print. Good tonal range and in good condition, mounted on original card, printed title below and plate number 60 on the mount.
