Mantua. A fine Italian map centered on the Lombardian city of Mantua, and its surrounds by Willem Blaeu, from his German edition of the "Novus Atlas". Two large and attractive cartouches adorn the right hand corners of the map. The city of Mantua is shown with five bridges on an artificial lake. The principal rivers of the Po, Adige and Mincio and their many smaller tributaries dominate the map. Major cities and towns are highlighted in red, to aide identification. 410 x 560 mm. (16 x 22 inches).

Double-page engraved map, hand-coloured. Slight age toning and minor discolouration to the central fold.
