Mrs Le Blond was originally married to Captain Fred Burnaby ( Ride to Khiva) and after his death she became heavily involved in mountaineering and snow photography. This book highlights her role as a pioneering female climber who helped break social conventions and specialised in winter and challenging Alpine/Arctic climbs.
