East Africa. A full length portrait of a Zande binza or witchdoctor standing beside a hut, wearing rattles, skins, medicines and other attire of the corporation. Buchta made an excursion to the groups west of the Nile in 1879 setting out from Juba on 7th July and returning there on 26th August.

Albumen print. Very good tonal range and in good condition, pasted on original card, photographers credit and title in negative, another title in German manuscript.
