8vo (19 x 13 cm); ownership inscription in pen to prelims, frontispiece portrait of the author as well as an additional portrait following the introduction, including a pasted in facsimile of Lamb's handwritten essay 'A Dissertation Upon Roast Pig' with slight closed tear, marbled endpapers and edges; half brown calf, marbled boards, spine lettered in gilt in six compartments with raised bands, a touch of rubbing to spine and board edges, very good; [xv], 856.
