An excellent example in a presentation binding for The Law Society of Sir Frederick Pollock and F.W. Maitland's seminal History of English Law, tracing its development from its pre-Saxon origins up to the reign of Henry III, covering over 1000 years of it history.

The work was produced by Sir Frederick Pollock (1845-1937), Corpus Professor of Jurisprudence at the University of Oxford from 1883 to 1903, and editor of the Law Reports from 1895 until 1935, in conjunction with F.W. Maitland (1850-1906), Downing Professor of the Laws of England at the University of Cambridge from 1888 to his death. It remains a standard living authority on the development of the law in this country.
