M'Phun was bookseller and publisher to Prince Albert, consort of Queen Victoria.Folio (330 x 260mm); steel-engraved frontispiece over two pages, title page in red and black lettering, several more throughout, maps in colour, family register between testaments as is usual, separate title for new testament, index and encyclopaedic glossary to rear, hint of age-toning, almost without spotting; full plum leather binding, blind stamped to boards with floral scrolls, inner frame to boards tooled in decorative gilt, bordered by solar motifs, five compartments to spine tooled in gilt, second titled in gilt, all gilt-edges, minor rubbing to surface area, otherwise very good; [xv], 1216pp, [36]index.
