A detailed plan of London as it stood in the Dickensian age, extending from Stamford Hill in the North, to Camberwell in the South, and from Kensal Green in the West to Greenwich Park in the East. With original hand-colouring showing the division of the metropolis into its constituent boroughs, and an inset listing the London parishes with corresponding coloured Roman numerals on the plan.
Originally published in 1828, Cross's popular plan of London ran to numerous editions, with the last published in 1864.
Lithographic plan of London (87.5 x 126 cm), dissected into 44 parts and laid onto linen as issued, original hand-colouring, minor wear to margins, otherwise a very good example. Framed and glazed, overall size: 94cm x 133cm x 3cm.
