Karl Baedeker, Leipzig 1943.
the first issue
The first and only edition of this title which describes those parts of occupied Poland that were not annexed by Greater Germany. The name of the Territory derived from the old name under Czarist Russia before World War I ("General Gouvernement of Warsaw") and used by the Germans during the 1914/18 War after they had captured the region from Russia. The map is dated "IV/43" and is therefore the first issue of this unusual title.First edition, lxiv, 264pp, 3 maps, 6 town plans ; publisher's coarse grained red cloth binding, gilt lettered;, spine faded; overall a very good copy.
Variant of Hinrichsen D258a.
