Contains Golding's two best detective stories Luigi of Cantazaro and the title story both of which were included in the Queen's Quorum list of key works in the field. Both of which had appeared previously in very limited, private editions. This is an uncommon book to find inscribed.First edition, first impression. 8vo; inscribed by the author. Publisher's black cloth, titles to upper board and spine gilt. With the dust jacket. A particularly nice copy in the dust jacket.
