Colonel Robin George Sykes (b. 1917) would serve in the Royal Army Medical Corps, become a Fellowof the Faculty of Anaesthetists, Royal College of Surgeons of England, was awarded the Territorial Decoration, and made HM Honorary Surgeon in 1964.
Fourth edition, revised and enlarged; 8vo (25.5 x 18 cm); gift inscription in pen to front free endpaper, folding colour plan of Eton College and numerous other illustrations including an engraved frontispiece, full colour plates, and woodcut initials; contemporary full red morocco by Spottiswood and Co, spine lettered in gilt in six compartments, all edges gilt, occasional light spotting, spine a touch faded, else a fine copy; 627 pp.
