This work is a meticulous copy of a Persian miniature from the Safavid school. In creating it, the artist sought to remain as faithful as possible to the original composition, colour palette, and painting techniques of the period. To complement the miniature and enhance its historical character, the artist added a tash'ir (illuminated marginal decoration) inspired by authentic Safavid ornamentation around the composition. Through this work, the artist aimed not only to reproduce the original painting with precision but also to honour the artistic spirit and craftsmanship of the Safavid masters.

Single illuminated painting on paper, gouache, watercolour, 23 ct. shell gold & Persian ink, heightened in gold, 23 x 33cm; framed & glazed.
