Douglas Morison (1814-1847) was an English painter who achieved some success and was invited to produce some sketches for Queen Victoria at Windsor Castle. He has signed the dedication to the Duke of Rutland, owner of the famous Tudor manor house.
First edition, signed by the author; folio (53 x 37 cm); 25 tinted lithograph plates, lithographed title, lithographed dedication and plate list, subscriber list, touch of waterstaining to the outer margin only of the first half of the plates, title with a couple small marginal tears, very light scattered spotting; contemporary half red morocco, pebbled cloth boards, gilt flat spine, all edges gilt, a little rubbing to spine, upper joint starting to split at foot, otherwise a very good copy.
