First edition, first issue; 8vo; 12 black and white plates, 'The Captain' magazine prize plate to front pastedown, light spotting and offsetting to prelims and endpapers; publisher's red pictorial cloth, gold and black lettering and blue-grey, yellow, gold and black illustrations on upper cover and spine, corners and spine tips slightly rubbed, a little foxing to edges, else very good.
