The signed limited edition of Robert Louis Stevenson's Virginibus Puerisque.Number 33 of 50 large paper copies, signed by the author, of Stevenson's essays. The second edition following the first publication in 1881. The edition brings together essays originally published in Cornhill Magazine and Macmillan's Magazine, as well as those which were previously unpublished, where Stevenson muses on love, marriage, age, and illness.
Stated second edition, number 33 of 50 signed limited edition copies printed on large paper; 4to (25 x 20 cm); signed an numbered in pen to limitation page, woodcut device to title-page and final blank leaf, tipped-in newspaper cutting to p.271 and p.277 causing slight offsetting, pencil annotations to p.275 and occasional throughout, bookplate to front paste down, ownership inscription in pen to front free endpaper, endpapers toned, small puncture to front free endpaper, frotn hinge slightly split but holding; publisher's cream cloth, spine lettered in gilt (faded), uncut edges, bumped corners, covers soiled but internally clean; [viii], 278, [2]pp.
