The first Dublin printing of the Italian poet Torquato Tasso's (1544-1595) epic account of the recovery of Jerusalem in 1099 during the First Crusade by forces under the command of Godfrey of Bouillon.The text follows the English translation made by Edward Fairfax (c.1635) published in 1600, which the press censor and translator Roger L'Estrange licensed to be reprinted in 1687.
With contemporary provenance for 'King', likely the 'Mrs King' who appears in the list of subscribers towards the beginning of the text.
