8vo (18.5 x 13 cm); six full-page steel engravings in black and white, including two black and white frontispiece engravings, ownership inscription in pen to front pastedown, light spotting and damp-staining to prelims and some throughout; green pebble-grained morocco with elaborate blind tooling, gilt decoration and red titling to upper board, spine decorated in gilt in six compartments with raised bands, all edges gilt, green ribbon bookmark, corners slightly rubbed, light bumping to spine, very good; xiv, 624 pp.
