Published after the author's return from an extended tour of Italy and Greece between 1816 and 1818. Williams trained as a landscape painter and also held an exhibition of Greek watercolours in Edinburgh in 1822.
First edition. 2 vols, 8vo, xxii, [ii], 399, [iii]; xiv, [ii], 437 pp., 20 engraved plates by Lizars after drawings by the author, contemporary polished calf gilt, chip to lower spine vol I, lacking 3 labels, marbled edges, offsetting from plates to text, light browning to some plates, joints cracked but firm, a good set.
