A charming copy of this lavishly illustrated classic of British gardening, with attractive colour plates of apples, pears, grapes, berries, etc., by botanical artist May Rivers. Author John Wright was a member of the Royal Horticultural Society and editor of the Journal of Horticulture.

3 vols in 6, 4to (28 x 22 cm); 3 chromolithograph titles and 43 chromolithograph plates by May Rivers, further engravings within text, contemporary annotations to front endpapers; publisher's original decorative cloth, gilt lettering to spines, all edges gilt, cloth a little rubbed, a very good set.
