Sven Hedin
Sven Anders Hedin, (1865-1952) was a Swedish geographer, topographer, explorer, photographer, travel writer and illustrator of his own works. During four expeditions to Central Asia, he made the Trans-Himalaya known in the West and located sources of the Brahmaputra, Indus and Sutlej Rivers.
Notable works by Hedin in English include: Through Asia (1898); Central Asia and Tibet (1903); Trans-Himalaya: Discoveries and Adventures in Tibet (1909-1913); Southern Tibet, with 11 text and 3 map volumes (1917–1922).
