The 'Arabistan' in the title refers to Khuzestan in Eastern Persia. The author, a member of the Russian legation at Tehran, travelled from Tehran to Isfahan, Persepolis, Shiraz, Kazeroun, Shushtar, Susa, Khorramabad and back to Tehran.
