Depicting Churchill in 1951 during his second premiership, three-quarter length, seated, vintage silverprint, signed by sitter on mount 'Winston S. Churchill', copyright stamp on the reverse, minor rippling to mount where it meets the top edge, top right-hand corner of the photograph, (230 x 150mm); sealed behind contemporary glazing, which has preserved the photograph so well, these 60 years, this framed within a mount and glazed, polished black lacquer wood (400 x 310 mm).

First edition, first impression, author's presentation copy to his son, 8vo, publisher's red cloth, titles to spine gilt, red topstain, with the dust jacket. An exceptional copy in the very slightly faded dust jacket.

First edition, vol I signed on the front prelim: 'From Winston Churchill/ July 24 1924'; 2 vols, 8vo; frontispieces, 16 plates, one folding, occasional spotting to vol. I but in the main, clean and bright; lavish twentieth century full black morocco for Asprey, gilt-panelled and bordered with Churchillian devices to front and rear boards as well as the ribbed spins, silk doublures within twin-panelled dentelles, all edges gilt, a fine set.

Limited edition, number 856 of 1050; 5 vols, 4to (332 x 215 mm); with a full-page engraved portrait for each 'biography' or chapter; publisher's brown cloth, bevelled boards, original paper labels to spine and a spare one for each vol. at he rear, as published, top edges gilt, tarnished, generally toned and dust-soiled, slight stains to upper boards of vols I. IV & V , otherwise very sound and internally fine.
