"1914" Five Sonnets.
London, Sidgwick & Jackson, Limited, 1915
This is a charming copy. The original owner was clearly a fan of Brooke as they made a protective stiff paper binding for the pamphlet and pasted relevant news clippings and a portrait of Brooke onto the added endpapers. The original wrappers are in nice condition, having been protected by this home-made binding.
First edition; 12mo; contents fresh; original grey wrappers printed in dark blue, carefully sewn in to a larger, home-made binding of stiff paper with printed paper title label on the upper cover, and with two small news clippings and a printed portrait photo pasted-in on the additional front endpaper and blank, the exterior binding with some toning and dampstain and the original paper wrapper with a small grey spot on the cover and contemporary ink inscription 'T.H. No. 3891a' on the inside of the front cover, but otherwise very clean and fresh; excellent condition.
