A very scarce early English edition. This edition followed the lawsuit brought by Mr Howard against Baedekers about disparaging remarks in the previous edition which resulted in the elimination of Howard's Hotels from the list of hotels in Jaffa and Jerusalem in the present edition. The Peninsula of Sinai has also been added to this volume. Issued c.1898.

Third edition, cxviii, 472pp, 20 maps, 48 plans, and a panorama of Jerusalem, ink inscription and signatures on front free preliminary page, hinges slightly cracked, publisher's red cloth gilt, spine faded, a very good copy
