Founded in 1852 by the Mourlot family, Atelier Mourlot revolutionised and brought about the resurgence of modern lithography. Collaborating with renowned artists such as Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró and Fernand Léger, the studio elevated art posters and prints to coveted masterpieces in their own right. Inviting prominent artists to work directly on the lithographic stone used in the process of lithography, Mourlot positioned the lithograph as a painter's medium. Refining the lithographic technique through precise experiments, the studio facilitated the creation of long-lasting, vibrant and original artworks accessible to the wider public.
