Germany - Hessen. Willem Blaeu's splendid map of north Hesse in Germany, centering in and around the administrative capital of Kassel (Cassel).The main river in the district is the Weser. The river Fulda, flows through the southern part of the district including the city Kassel. This map is from the early German edition of his "Novus Atlas", and in addition to the fine geographical features, Blaeu engraves a truly wonderful title cartouche. 410 x 560 mm (16 x 22 inches).
