A photograph album of historical importance, recording the aftermath of the liberation of Manila from the Japanese in 1945. The photographs were taken by Joseph A. Eselunas, a Seaman 1st class on the U. S. S. Augusta from 1938. The subjects vary, some showing U. S. navy personnel, other show Philippine citizens at work and play, city views, and most strikingly, the damage caused by the Japanese.

Photograph album (25.5 x 36 cm); 230 actual photographs, mounted, 155 are about 10 x 12 cm, 40 are about 6 x 8 cm, 22 are about 12 x 20 cm, and the largest 10 are 18 x 24 cm. There are also 4 sheets of photos, each containing 9 small photos. Album reinforced at spine, corners defective.
