Humdrum.
London, Chatto & Windus, 1928
Georgia Sitwell (nee Doble, 1905-1980) was the daughter of a wealthy Canadian banker. She married Sacheverell, the younger of the Sitwell siblings, in Paris in October 1925. Harold Acton had been friends of the Sitwells from youth and was a central figure in the Bright Young Things of the 1920s, so brilliantly portrayed by Evelyn Waugh, who based his character Anthony Blanche partly on Acton and on Brian Howard.
First edition, first impression, presentation copy inscribed by the author; 8vo; publisher's orange cloth, titles to spine gilt, spine faded and a little cocked, boards slightly bowed. Overall a very good copy.
