This is the second state of the map. This state retains the imprint of Burgis and Barfoot, but the map marks two locations for Napoleon's residence: The first at 'The Briars Mr Balcombe'; the second at 'Long wood'; the 'Plantation House' is now labelled 'Plantation House. The Residence of The Governor'; and the hatchuring around the coast has been erased. The map is extremelly attractive with sailing ships, fine depiction of James Fort & Town, and some residences individually are named.

Hand-coloured engraved map, dissected and mounted on linen, some age toning to map, 'A Descriptive Sketch of Saint Helena' pasted to verso.
