From Staunton's An Authentic Account of an Embassy from the King of Great Britain to the Emperor of China. A record of the second part of the journey undertaken by John Barrow while serving with the Earl of McCartney's Embassy to the Emperor of China from Tartary to Canton. The map covers an area of modern day Hangzhou, Nanchang, Lake Ooyanghu, Canton and Macau. Scale approx 30 miles to the inch with scales in English miles and Chinese Lys. This map features the Yang-tse-kiang and Pei-Kiang rivers and features many tributaries, lakes and mountains with comments on the geography, population and human activity in many locations at that time. "Numerous Villages and a vast population. Various manufactories of earthenware, bricks and tiles, carried on along the banks of the river."
